When can I expect my order to ship?
City Lights ships orders within 24 hours of receiving them Monday through Friday. Our shipping department takes great pride in a fast turnaround time, and will stop at nothing to keep you satisfied.
How do I know my package will reach me safely?
City lights works extremely hard to ensure breakage during shipping is at a bare minimum. We have worked extensively with UPS’s to have our custom made boxes tested, and they supersede all UPS recommendations in box strength. In addition, every item is checked here at City Lights prior to shipping to ensure that you item is not damaged before leaving our premises. Should there be a breakage during shipping don’t worry, everything is shipped insured and a replacement will be shipped out. Please see instructions in the box on how to file a claim.
How soon will items marked “on order” ship?
This varies by product line. City Lights has established itself as a volume dealer with most of our suppliers and therefore we get priority shipping. Many times when an item is marked on order it is because the manufacturer does not have product on hand, but is waiting for a shipment themselves. As soon as they receive their goods, we are one of the first shipped, and we ship to you immediately.
Why do we charge a 20% deposit on items on backorder?
We do this to ensure you will get what you order. By placing a deposit, our computer system tracks your order, and makes sure you are shipped out as soon as the merchandise arrives. Sometimes, vendors ship partial shipments and this is a way of guaranteeing you will be one of the first shipped.
Do you offer Layaway?
Yes we do. Layaways may be placed for a period of 6 months, no longer. A 30% deposit is required to start a layaway, then pay as you will. Layaways may be placed either over the phone at 800-262-5335 or 619-275-1006 or in the shop.
Do you have more than one location?
At this time, there is only one City Lights location. We have chosen to expand our facilities here rather than open additional locations, allowing us to fit more product and make you shopping selection that much better.
What credit cards do you take?
We take American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
Do you accept Checks or Money orders?
City Lights does accept money orders, but not out of state checks. In order to place an order with a money order you must call a customer service agent at 800-262-5335 and they will be able to help you.

Yes, the website is completely secure. All information is encrypted to ensure the information you give us is completely safe.
Do you have catalog’s available?
Unfortunately we do not, but everything is available on our website to peruse.
Are we open holidays?
Yes, for the most part. Our store is closed only Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Otherwise, we are open, but may have reduced hours so contact us if you have specific questions.
How do you handle returns?
Merchandise may be exchanged or returned for an in-store credit up to 21 days from the date on your receipt. Special orders and sale items are non-returnable.
In the event that you ordered a piece in error or duplicated we will happily exchange it for you. To implement the exchange, you must return the item to us undamaged with clear information as to what you require. The new piece will be shipped the least expensive way and shipping WILL BE CHARGED.
Any changes to an order received after it has been shipped will be treated as an exchange and the re-ship WILL BE CHARGED TO YOU. Any returns for any reason will be subject to our return policy as printed on your receipt & credit card charge slip. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
All returns must be received back undamaged and within 21 days from our date of shipping to you. If merchandise is returned not to be exchanged, an In-Store Credit memo will be issued to your customer profile.
