The English have been famous for tea for centuries, importing the finest varieties from the Far East. Tetley is a well known company and our new shopped is named for the Tetley brothers, Joseph and Edward, who founded their company in the 1820s. During the mid 1800s, it was popular sport to speculate which of the clipper ships carrying tea from the Far East would arrive first in London. The side of our Joseph Edward Tea Shoppe includes a sign announcing the race updates. The famous Cutty Sark was often in contention.
