Item Details

This piece was first sculpted by Annette in the 1970's for a local historic landmark. Today they are painted in this special limited edition to represent the early days when our country was newly independent!

Ezra Ripley (1751-1841) was a minister at The First Parish Church in Concord, MA for 63 years, a very long time! His daughter-in-law Sarah Bradford Ripley (1793-1867) was a self- taught intellectual who devoured the texts of her younger brothers who attended Harvard College. Lastly, Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) was a fa-mouse Concord author whose contemporaries were Ralph Waldo Emerson, Bronson Alcott and Henry David Thoreau. He was best known for his book, The Scarlet Letter.
